about

Originally featured on Antiskeptic's album 'Memoirs of a Common Man' the song Teach Him Well instantly became a crowd favorite and of course the band had to stop playing it because we cant have nice things. Also because they were branching away from punk and into more rock territory. Or was it because they're a bunch of sooks who couldn't keep up the pace? You decide.

Enter 2021 and Dark Antiskeptic once again has to step in during yet another lockdown to bring the trademark dark, broody heaviness for everyone to enjoy.

As with each entry in Dark Antiskeptic's catalogue the song features a very special guest artist: Brenton Harris from Melbourne band Catholic Guilt.

lyrics

If he could breathe then he would feel so well
And not locked up inside this prison cell
Another accident complacency
And now he's questioning a truth believed
A precious memory from so long ago
Push come to shove and now he won't let go
And he sees this world through cellophane eyes
It's almost like he can feel my lies
So please you're not alone
I caught him out in the freezing snow
I've been his friend
It's hard to tell
You're hardly old enough, so teach him well
In agony a mother seeking help
A son astray as far as I can tell
A month is gone without a word to speak
Afraid and lonely on this windy street
Saving face and shame from strangers by
The choice is made and only God know why
And he sees this world through cellophane eyes
It's almost like he can feel my lies
So please you're not alone
I caught him out in the freezing snow
I've been his friend
It's hard to tell
You're hardly old enough, so teach him well
So please don't leave it's your eyes, they're deceiving you
For all eternity, the truth revealed in you
For all eternity, the truth revealed in you (repeat)
So please you're not alone
I caught him out in the freezing snow
I've been his friend
It's hard to tell
You're hardly old enough, so teach him well
Teach him well.
